School of Medicine Eastern Campus welcomes student services manager Brystal Belmonte

Brystal Belmonte joins the West Virginia University School of Medicine’s Eastern Campus as the manager of student services.

A Charles Town, West Virginia native, Belmonte was born and raised in the eastern panhandle. She said she was drawn to the role as student services manager because it provides her with the opportunity to make a significant impact on her home and community.

“Throughout my career, I’ve found that true fulfillment comes not from chasing individual happiness, but from the joy and satisfaction of pursuing something meaningful. Together with the talented student services team, I hope to help foster an environment that will continue to attract the next generation of doctors to our campus and encourage them to return here as practicing physicians,” she said.

Most recently, Belmonte worked as a senior administrative assistant for the University Health Associates Directors Team at WVU Medicine. Her other previous roles include working as an account manager for the Shepherd University Foundation and a decade spent as a senior processor and contract and settlement coordinator at a local law firm.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Shepherd University and plans to continue her educational pursuits by enrolling in the Master of Health Administration Program at WVU in the fall.

As student services manager, Belmonte said her primary goal is to get to know all Eastern Campus students on both a professional and personal level and to provide dedicated support to them throughout their entire medical school journey. She said she also hopes to help grow the program and expand the services offered to third- and fourth-year medical students at the Eastern Campus.

In her spare time, Belmonte said she enjoys reading and crocheting. She also is a member of a local dart league, and her team recently won the playoffs to become the Division 2 Fall Champions and advance to Division 1 for the new season.
