School of Medicine family invited to help celebrate John W. Traubert's 90th birthday

John W. Traubert, M.D., former associate dean for student and curricular affairs at the West Virginia University School of Medicine, will turn 90 years old on August 15, 2024. To celebrate the occasion, Dr. Traubert’s family has requested the School of Medicine’s help in delivering 90 messages, or more, from former associates and friends.

The family would like to receive submissions by Saturday, Aug. 3 to assemble a book of messages to give to Traubert.

Alumni, staff, faculty and all members who wish to deliver a note may do so by emailing their birthday message to jwtmd34@gmail.com.

Traubert practiced family medicine in Wellsburg before joining WVU School of Medicine faculty.  He was founding chair of the newly established Department of Family Practice in 1973, now the Department of Family Medicine. In 1986, Traubert was appointed associate dean for student affairs and served in that role until 1999.
