Students invited to show off their home away from home during Fall Family Weekend

West Virginia University is excited to welcome families to campus for a weekend of fun Oct. 14-16. Fall Family Weekend, sponsored by the Mountaineer Parents Club, gives parents, siblings and friends a chance for a first-hand look at life as a WVU student.

On Saturday, Oct. 15, we invite Health Sciences students to show their loved ones where they study, go to class, grab a coffee, hang out with friends and more. From 9 a.m. to noon, the Health Sciences Center Open House will include a light grab-and-go breakfast, tours of the David and Jo Ann Shaw Center for Simulation Training and Education for Patient Safety (STEPS), a chance to visit the new William A. Neal Museum of the Health Sciences and Cook Hayman Pharmacy Museum and an opportunity to visit the Bookstore to stock up on favorite Health Sciences school gear.

A mini-information fair will also give individuals a chance to meet with School of Dentistry Dean Stephen Pachuta, DDS, School of Pharmacy Dean William Petros, PharmD, and School of Nursing and School of Public Health representatives. To share information about getting involved on campus, students from the WVU Student Nurses' Association and National Student Speech Language Hearing Association will be on hand.

In addition to the Open House, there is a full schedule of activities for everyone that showcases WVU’s academic programs, state-of-the-art facilities and beautiful location at the peak of autumn.
