Tuesday Talks: The Center for Hope and Healing
West Virginia has the highest drug overdose death rate per capita in the country, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In 2021, there were 1,519 drug overdose deaths in the Mountain state, a 15 percent increase from 2020.
In the latest Tuesday Talks, Daniel Farmer, DO, medical director of the WVU Medicine Center for Hope and Healing, discusses the center, which helps adults struggling with substance use disorders through medically managed withdrawal stabilization and residential treatment.
