United Way Power of the Purse fundraiser set for Aug. 19

Women United will host its third annual Power of the Purse Fundraiser on Thursday, Aug. 19, at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown. The event will bring together hundreds of area women and men who support the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties and want to build a stronger community by raising money for early childhood education.

The Power of the Purse event will feature more than a dozen silent auctions of mid- to high-end purses, food, and drinks. Comedian Erin Jackson will perform at this year's event.

Tickets purchased before July 22 will be entered into a drawing for a Spa Roma gift basket.
