University Motors sponsors WVU Go Baby Go Car
Local business, University Motors Mercedes Benz of Morgantown has been a proud supporter of children in our community including donating bicycles to children at Eastwood Elementary in Monongalia County. This year, the WVU Division of Occupational Therapy received a Go Baby Go car donation from University Motors Mercedes Benz of Morgantown.
This car was modified by our occupational therapy students, including Zaccardi, to include a moveable hand switch to power on the car and postural supports so that children who may not normally be able to operate a ride-on toy car now have the opportunity to play!
Go Baby Go is a nationwide education and outreach project that began at the University of Delaware to help children with disabilities increase their independence by allowing them to move around and explore their environment. Because these cars are provided at no cost, the WVU Go Baby Go program fully relies on donations.
WVU alumni Crystal Bennington (occupational therapy) and Audra Moore (physical therapy) of East Dale Elementary School in Marion County received this car alongside Principal Erin Board and intend to use this car with children with physical and communication limitations and learning differences. As Crystal put it, “Santa visited EAST DALE!”
