Walk with a Future Doc session to feature discussion on health disparities in rural areas

Treah Haggerty, M.D., will be giving a presentation focussed on health disparities in rural areas during the West Virginia University School of Medicine's Walk with a Future Doc session on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m.

Dr. Haggerty is an assistant professor and the director of the Rural Scholar's Program for the Department of Family Medicine. She is also a physician for the WVU Medicine Weight Management Clinic and a faculty advisor for the WVU School of Medicine Walk with a Future Doc program.

Her presentation is titled "Rural Health Disparities and their Effect on Weight." The presentation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. Participants can meet at Star City Riverfront Park, at mile marker 6.7 on the Mon River Rail-Trail near Terra Cafe, to walk in-person. Participants can also join the walk remotely via Zoom and walk along at home.
