WVU Army ROTC to conduct helicopter operations near Ruby Memorial on Friday
The WVU Army ROTC Mountaineer Battalion will conduct helicopter transportation operations on Friday (Nov. 4) in conjunction with the West Virginia Army National Guard on the intramural fields north of J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, along Chestnut Ridge Road. The activities, part of Army ROTC’s annual Fall Field Training Exercise (FTX), will take place from 7:30-9:30 a.m. (weather permitting).
Cadets will be transported in two successive flights from Morgantown to Camp Dawson in Kingwood. Field training exercises are held during the fall and spring semesters for Cadets to demonstrate tactical proficiency in preparation for individual leadership assessment at Advanced Camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky, over the summer.
The public is welcome to observe but will be required to remain in the paved parking lot adjacent to the intramural fields during the operations.
