WVU Eye Institute Offers Summer Undergraduate Vision Research Fellowship Program
The WVU Eye Institute is offering an undergraduate summer research fellowship opportunity beginning May 2019.
The highly selective program will emphasize components of basic vision reserach with regards to ocular disease and exploration of new diagnostic and treatment methonds. Upon selection, students will receive a $4,000 stipend for the cost of living expenses in Morgantown over the 10-week long program duratin and an additional $1,000 for research supplies in the host lab. Each student will be assigned a mentor currently conducting research in the Eye Instituet and will complete a small scale research project to be presented at the completion of the fellowship. Projects will focus on mechanisms behind ocular diseases and exploration of possible treatments.
The first summer program will start on May 20, 2019 and continue for 10 weeks. Fellows will prepare an abstract and present final results of their project in poster format at a research symposium July 29, 2019.
