WVU Medicine Center for Integrative Pain Management chiropractic study open to PEIA insured
The WVU Medicine Center for Integrative Pain Management is offering all West Virginia state employees who are insured through the Public Employee Insurance Agency the opportunity to receive chiropractic treatment of back or neck injuries without any copay.
The treatments provide for six of these chiropractic visits as part of a pilot program to study chiropractic treatments and its effectiveness in managing acute neck or back pain or the exacerbation of neck and back pain.
Sessions are administered by two qualified chiropractors, Edward Priem and Nick Marchesani who both had more than 20 years of experience before joining the WVU Pain Center in 2017 during its expansion.
Additional therapies such as acupuncture, exercise therapy and massage therapy may be utilized to assist with patient healing and recovery.
Weight management and counseling to assist with chronic pain coping are also available; however, those services will be provided with standard PEIA cost sharing.
As patient treatment progresses, if any other specialty visits are deemed necessary, clinic staff can assist in connecting the patient to a physician in those specific areas.
Those interested can schedule an appointment with the clinic by calling Tally Metro (304-598-6216 ext. 70989) or Melissa McCabe (304-598-6216 ext. 76535).

Those with Health Plan PEIA, Humana PEIA and PEIA/UMR Plan C may have some restrictions and should contact their insurance provider before scheduling an appointment.
