Fairmont Medical Center is home to a full-service emergency department, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The emergency department is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, and is equipped with a fully-functioning lab and imaging suite. Ten acute care inpatient beds are available for admitted patients.
The emergency and inpatient services complement the care already provided at the WVU Medicine Outpatient Center off of the Fairmont Gateway Connector.
If the Fairmont Medical Center meets its expected patient volume goals, WVU Medicine will build a new hospital near the Outpatient Center with a projected opening of mid-2022.
