WVU Medicine, The Health Plan terminate agreement

A message from WVU Medicine Human Resources:

WVU Medicine and The Health Plan announced on Dec. 4 that they have mutually decided to terminate their agreement to operate as a single entity, creating a fully integrated healthcare delivery and financing system for West Virginia.

The termination of this agreement does not affect any of the benefit plan changes for WVU Medicine for 2020. Changes are as follows:

• The Health Plan will administer the 90% Blue PPO medical plan.
• The 80% Gold PPO and the Mountaineer HDHP medical plans will continue to be administered by Highmark.
• THP Rx (The Health Plan) will administer prescription drug coverage for all medical plans.

In addition, The Health Plan will administer the medical plans for the Laborers Local 814 in 2020.
