WVU Medicine to move to single platform for HR, Finance, Supply Chain applications; contest being held encouraging employees to name initiative

In 2022, WVU Medicine will replace its Human Resources, Finance, and Supply Chain applications with one application, Workday.

“This single platform, cloud-based software will help these divisions become more efficient, effective, and adaptable, and better align with the organization’s vision and continued growth,” said Justin Ruble, change management lead for this effort.

Workday, which Ruble calls “Epic for non-clinical functions,” will fully or partially replace the majority of current HR, Finance and Supply Chain applications, including UltiPro, Lawson, Healthcare Source HR Inc., Strata Financial Planning, Hyland ImageNow, GHX Procure, Payformance, Lease Query, and Concur.

To prepare for this system-wide project, which kicks off in January 2021, WVU Medicine is asking employees to help name the initiative.

“While the application will be called Workday, we want to name the initiative during our pre-planning journey,” said Ruble. “We want a name that will highlight this transformative project.”

The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Steering committee, the group responsible for this effort, will review the entries and select the winner, who will receive a $100 gift card. The winning submission will be announced in January, when a dedicated webpage launches on CONNECT. At that time, more details about the project, including a timeline and project team, will be shared.
