WVU Nursing faculty selected to join AACN's Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing Program

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- Dr. Angel Smothers, Associate Dean for Community Engagement for the WVU School of Nursing, has been selected to participate in the 2025-26 cohort of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing's Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing Program. 

The ELAN fellowship is designed to further develop and enhance leadership skills in new and emerging nurse academic leaders in baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs. ELAN prepares individuals in administrative and leadership positions to lead in academic nursing. The current ELAN program includes a workshop addressing important executive leadership topics and provides numerous assessment experiences.
