WVU OT student assists in vaccination clinic
Occupational therapy practitioners have risen to the challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic. While many practitioners have provided rehabilitation services in inpatient and outpatient settings to patients recovering from the COVID-19 virus, others have participated in community based iniatiatives.
While completing her final level-2 fieldwork, WVU OT student Taylor Deuley, assisted her clinical instructor and WVU alumni Samantha Bates, OTR/L, at the WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center vaccination clinic. Bates is a 2010 alumni of the WVU Division of Occupational Therapy.
According to Missy Covert, OTR/L, administrator of Camden Clark Medical Center vaccinator clinic and Director of Rehabilitation, "Taylor worked extra hours to help 450+ community members and employees while working in one of 3 vaccine clinics" on February 12, 2020. Covert is also an alumni of WVU Division of Occupational Therapy.
