WVU OT Students Selected as Scholars
Students enrolled in the WVU Division of Occupational Therapy have the ability to develop additional areas of emphasis in addition to the general OT curriculum. While earning stipends, these two current OT students are expanding their skills in the areas of rural health and autism research.
Hannah Cait Guschel has been accepted into the West Virginia AHEC Rural Community Health Scholars Program. This is a two-year program with interdisciplinary curricula designed to help students develop their knowledge through clinical, didactic, and community-based activities. All experiential or clinical training will be conducted in rural and/or underserved settings. A yearly stipend is awarded to all scholars accepted into this program.
Loryn Frame has accepted a part-time graduate research assistant position to support an externally funded project title “Autistic Stakeholder Perspectives and Construct Validation of Flourishing Measures; Informing Surveillance and Intervention”. Under the direction of Principal Investigator Samatha Ross, Ph.D., Frame will serve as project coordinator, supporting research team meetings, participant recruitment and communication, data collection and management, and reporting. She was selected for the position given her advocacy experience with young adults with autism.
Please join us in congratulating these students on these outstanding learning opportunities.
