WVU Physician Assistant Studies graduates nominated for WVU Medicine APP award
Six West Virginia University Physician Assistant Studies program alumni have been nominated for the 2025 WVU Medicine Advanced Practice Providers (APP) Rising Star award.
The award recognizes an advanced practice provider who has made a sustained and positive impact on their organization in three years or less of practice.
Honorees include the following alumni who are among 80 advanced practice providers nominated for the award.
- Jennifer Brezny, PA-C, ’22 - Pain Management, Center for Integrative Pain Management
- Katelyn Delaney, PA-C, ’23 - Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Hannah Poole, MS, PA, ’22 - Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine
- Sarah Reppert, PA-C, ’24 - Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery)
- Morgan Roach, PA-C, ’23 - Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery
- Chaz Rodeheaver, PA-C, ‘24 - Pediatric Subspecialty and Telemedicine Clinic
“On behalf of the entire PA faculty, I express great pride in the impact our graduates are making in West Virginia communities so early in their careers,” Jennifer Momen, M.D., director of the Physical Assistant Studies program, said. “To be such a young program that is producing emerging leaders in our field speaks volumes not only to our curriculum but the standards and quality of each of our cohorts.”
The winner of the APP Rising Star award will be announced on September 26 at the annual WVU Medicine App Education Conference.
The Physician Assistant Studies program at WVU was launched in 2020 to address a vital need for healthcare providers and emphasizes health disparities along with rural and Appalachian health concerns. The program has now graduated four cohorts of physician assistants, many of whom are delivering medical care to patients in rural and underserved areas across West Virginia.
