Ingredients
Crunchy and Salty Chickpeas:
- 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas
- 1 tbsp oil (some options include: olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, canola oil)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp seasoning of choice (some options include: garlic powder, taco seasoning, Cajun seasoning, curry powder, parmesan cheese, or any flavor you like!)
Maple Cinnamon Chickpeas:
- 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas
- 1 tbsp oil (some options include: olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, canola oil)
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or plain cinnamon)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then spread them on a dish towel to dry. For extra crispy chickpeas, remove the thin white outer layer from each chickpea.
- Put the chickpeas in a mixing bowl with the rest of the ingredients and mix until evenly coated with oil and seasoning.
- Spread chickpeas onto a baking sheet and place into the oven for 30 minutes (shake the pan and stir chickpeas about halfway through). Turn the oven off, but leave the tray of chickpeas in the hot oven for approximately 20 more minutes. The longer you leave them in, the crispier they will get!
- Make sure to let the chickpeas cool all the way before you store them. They will stay crispier if you store them in a paper bag. If you store them in a container, keep the lid cracked open rather than sealed to keep them crispy for several days.
