WVU Emergency Medicine UIM Scholarship
West Virginia University Department of Emergency Medicine invites 4th year medical students to apply for a scholarship offered to those who have a background traditionally under-represented in medicine. In order to be considered for this scholarship, students must be in good standing at their medical school have an anticipated graduation in the spring of 2020, and be interested in a career in emergency medicine. The awarded stipend is $1,500 and may be used for housing, travel costs, and other rotation related expenses. In addition to participating as an active and involved clinician alongside senior residents and EM attendings on clinical shifts in our tertiary care, academic ED, we also offer clinical time in our community ED as well as at our departmentally owned and operated urgent care. During their experience with us, students will have dedicated didactic lectures, hands-on procedure workshops, simulation experiences, and an opportunity to meet one on one with the WVU Residency Leadership Team (Program Director and Associate Program Director) to gain individual guidance on how to best navigate through the Emergency Medicine Match. In addition to this application, students will also have to apply through VSAS. The application deadline is July 1, 2020.
