How We Prepare Future Health Professionals
Rigorous, Medically-Aligned Curriculum
Students complete a core set of graduate-level science courses—including Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Microbiology—that mirror foundational content in medical and dental school. Flexible electives allow students to tailor their experience and earn BCPM credit as recommended by professional school admissions committees.
Experiential Learning That Matters
Beyond the classroom, students gain meaningful exposure through clinical shadowing, community engagement and professional development activities. These experiences strengthen skills in communication, teamwork, cultural humility and ethical decision-making—essential attributes for future healthcare providers.
Mentorship and Career Coaching
Students are supported by a dedicated faculty mentor, academic advisor and a close-knit cohort of peers. Through individualized coaching, portfolio development, and interview preparation, participants build confidence and clarity about their professional path.
Pathways to WVU Professional Schools
Qualified students who complete the MS in Health Sciences program are eligible for a guaranteed interview with the WVU School of Medicine, providing a direct pathway to continue their education and training at WVU.
