WVU Medical Weight Management Clinic Obesity Care Micro-credentialing Badge Program
The Obesity Care Micro-Credentialing Badge Program, offered by the West Virginia University Medical Weight Management Clinic in collaboration with West Virginia University, is designed to empower healthcare professionals and interdisciplinary care teams with the tools to deliver effective, compassionate, and evidence-based care for individuals with obesity. This educational initiative provides standardized training to ensure high-quality support for individuals living with obesity across both clinical and community settings. In a time when misinformation—especially on social media—can obscure science and harm public health, having credible, evidence-based knowledge is more essential than ever.
Developed by a multidisciplinary team of experts in obesity medicine and clinical care, this fully online, self-paced program is tailored for individuals in any healthcare-related field, including medicine, nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, social work, psychology, and public health.
