Research at WVU Pediatrics

The WVU Department of Pediatrics faculty, staff, and students work in multidisciplinary teams with researchers in the four remaining health sciences schools: Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health as well as other faculty from the Eastern and Charleston medical campuses and faculty from other departments throughout the University.

This month, we wish to highlight efforts from Dr. Marty Weisse, Professor of Pediatrics and Chief Medical Officer for the WVU Children’s Hospital. Dr. Weisse will presenting at the Irish Paediatric Association annual meeting in Galway this month. Representing the Blue and Gold internationally, Dr. Weisse will be presenting his work on efforts to improve accuracy in the intensive care unit setting.

We would also like to showcase efforts our state chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (WVAAP) have been making in important societal areas including gun violence, vaccinations, and electronic cigarette use. The Quarterly Connection - September 2018  This work will provide important evidence-based research that will contribute to practice and policy in WV.
