Acute Hospital Consultative Service

Physiatry-led team that works collaboratively with our surgical and medical partners to address rehabilitation needs during acute hospitalization.  The team addresses all aspects of patient function, quality of life, and social/community needs to assist primary teams in transitioning patients home or to post-acute care facilities.

Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation

Joint venture with Encompass Health located on the footprint of Ruby Memorial Hospital with 77 acute inpatient beds that cover the inpatient rehabilitation of patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic injury, and other complex medical conditions.

Under construction: 10-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation unit within Ruby Memorial Hospital that is located on an adjacent floor to our NSICU and SICU for the rehabilitation of patients recovering from severe stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, as well as complex multi-traumas. 

Transitional Rehabilitation

We have a joint program with our WVU Fairmont Medical Center, located 15 miles south of Morgantown. There are 30 skilled nursing beds available, some of which can be utilized as Transitional Rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic-related conditions.
