DEV - How to Apply

WVU is an ACGME accredited neurosurgery residency. We accept 2 incoming residents per year. We participate in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP, The Match) along with all other neurosurgery programs.  

Currently all applicants to neurosurgery in the NRMP are allowed up to 25 Signals to preferred programs. Signaling will significantly improve an applicant’s chance of obtaining an interview at signaled programs. If you are interested in applying to WVU, we encourage you to consider signaling our program. We are happy to hear from you and eager to answer any questions from applicants about the program to assist you in these tough decisions.  

Competitive applicants should demonstrate a record of academic, clinical, and research excellence as well as experience and success working as part of a team.
