The article is titled “Four-year longitudinal culinary and lifestyle medicine track for undergraduate medical students: development and implementation.” It provides an overview of the School of Medicine’s Culinary and Lifestyle Medicine Track, a unique four-year program available to WVU medical students that provides increased training in areas such as nutrition, food science and preparation and lifestyle management.
The article was authored by a collaborative team of School of Medicine faculty including Madison Humerick, M.D., Rosemarie Cannarella Lorenzetti, M.D., MPH, Melody Phillips, M.D., William Lewis, M.D., and Emma Eggleston, M.D., MPH. Dr. Humerick and Dr. Lorenzetti are co-directors for the Culinary and Lifestyle Medicine Track.
“I am incredibly proud of our team for all of their work on this article, which we hope will spread awareness about this unique program and the overall importance of culinary and lifestyle medicine,” said Lorenzetti. “Since the creation and introduction of this track as an elective nearly a decade ago, our students and graduates have made valuable service contributions to our local community, and have had a positive impact on the health and wellness of our patients.”
