Dental school serves up smashing good time and intense competition

The WVU School of Dentistry's recent wellness committee initiative wasn't just some lob attempt to rally some mid-term fun.

It was clever use of resources provided in the Health Sciences Center student lounge. The point was to push the envelope with creative ideas to promote the well-being of students.

The first annual ping pong tournament was intense. But, it wasn't the same kind of intensity students experience earning their degree.

Flip the script a little and consider the health benefits served up in a good game of table tennis.

It’s a social sport that promotes teamwork. Some say it keeps the brain sharp. It encourages an audience to gather and discourages isolation.
