Physics in Medicine Workshop
The bridge to integrative transdisciplinary medicine
West Virginia University School of Medicine researchers, students, professors and practitioners are invited to attend this "Physics in Medicine" (PIM) workshop. This workshop is sponsored by the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation and the George Mason University College of Science.
This workshop will be held on consecutive Saturdays, Dec. 4 and 11, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day ET. The workshop will be a Zoom-based virtual event this year due to COVID-19, but we hope that our follow-up meetings will be in-person.
This Physics in Medicine workshop will be the inaugural meeting of researchers, teachers, academic leaders and practitioners from the medical and physics communities that have demonstrated a shared interest in participating in this team effort focused on developing the foundational-science innovations to medical education called for by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).
The overall spirit of the workshop is "Meet, Greet and Get to Work." With a cadre of inter-disciplinary working groups, we will begin the challenge of discovery, and the development and implementation of learning modules for the medical-school and residency levels.
A mid-October email will be sent with registration, agenda, and meeting link details.
