Registration now open for Internal Medicine for Health 5K/2K
Registration is now open for the Internal Medicine for Health 5K/2K hosted by the Department of Medicine. The event will be held at Edith Barill Riverfront Park in Star City on Sunday, Sept. 24, with registration beginning at 3 p.m. and the races beginning at 5 p.m.
The event will include a 5K race and a 2K walk on the paved rail trail located at the park. Medals and prizes will be awarded to top finishers in the 5K run, while the 2K walk is non-competitive. Attendance is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to invite friends and family to the event. Attendees are also welcome to bring their pets.
The event is sponsored by the Global Health and Medical Weight Management programs at the School of Medicine. All proceeds from the event will go towards Internal Medicine projects which will support health both globally and locally.
Those wishing to participate in either the 5K race or the 2K walk are being asked to register on the event’s website. A registration fee of $30 will be required for participants of the 5K race, while a $20 registration fee will be required for participants of the 2K walk.
