School of Medicine Faculty -- RSVP for Commencement

On Friday, May 16, at 4 p.m., students graduating from all School of Medicine programs will be honored in a commencement ceremony at the WVU Coliseum. This includes all undergraduate, graduate (e.g. M.S., Ph.D., etc.), and professional students (e.g. M.D., DPT, etc.).

All faculty who plan to participate in this ceremony must RSVP by Thursday, May 1st at 5 p.m.

For faculty whose primary academic appointment is within a Health Professions program, please contact Sally Weaver if you haven’t already received registration information.

Please note: If you’ve already registered to participate in the ceremony or if this ceremony does not apply to you, please kindly disregard.

Important Items to Note

  • All faculty who plan to attend must RSVP – both faculty who are hooding a student and faculty who only plan to participate in the procession.
  • Participating faculty are asked to arrive at their assigned locations, either the Basketball Practice Facility or WVU Coliseum, by 3 p.m. on Friday, May 16. Parking passes will be made available to you. If you have questions about your assigned location, contact your program's graduation coordinator (M.D. - Amy Drvar; Ph.D. - Logan Miller; Health Professions - Sally Weaver). 
  • Faculty participating in graduation are required to wear academic regalia, either from their alma mater or West Virginia University.
  • Any faculty member needing to borrow regalia, who have not previously submitted a request, are encouraged request a set from WVU University Events. Please complete this form by May 2nd to request a set of regalia.
