About WVU’s Athletic Training Program

The WVU Athletic Training program has educated and prepared sports medicine professionals for nearly 50 years.

Over 500 athletic training students have graduated from the program and have gone on to pursue careers in medicine, college athletics, professional sports, Olympic training centers, military, performing arts and clinical settings.

Current program alums include NCAA, NFL, MLB, MLS, and NBA sports medicine team athletic trainers. In addition, our Master of Science graduates have a 100% pass rate on the National Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer.

Students can participate in applied clinical research, gross anatomy with dissection lab and clinical rotations in emergency rooms and with WVU Big 12 athletic teams.
