WVU Department of Radiology announces temporary leadership transitions
Ansaar Rai, M.D., has been named interim chair of the WVU Department of Radiology, effective Feb. 18. Mathis Frick, M.D., will serve as a senior advisor to the School of Medicine’s senior leadership and to Dr. Rai as interim chair of Radiology.
Rai’s new interim position will be in addition to his duties as the chair of the Department of Neuroradiology, a position he’s served in since the department’s inception in 2019.
Dr. Frick’s advisory role has him continuing his service as a leader and advocate for the department. Frick has been the department chair since 1992, spearheading innovative growth in both clinical and academic arenas.
Dr. Rai is board-certified in Neuroradiology by the American Board of Radiology and in Endovascular Neurosurgery by the Congress of Neurosurgeons. He has more than 20 years of experience delivering care and served as the medical director of WVU Medicine’s Neurointerventional Services.
