Our program admits one (1) fellow on July 1st of each year. Candidates are selected for an interview based on the review of the required materials listed above. Interviews are conducted in the months of February and March. Below you will find a list of local hotels that are close to or adjacent to the hospital. Each candidate will be interviewed by as many faculty members as possible. Candidates will be assessed based on perceived intellectual ability and personality fit to the Cardiothoracic Surgery Service. Candidates have ample time to talk with faculty in the program and tour the facilities at WVU, including the new addition of the Heart and Vascular Institute. Additionally, a casual night out, the Friday evening before each interview day is usually scheduled.
