Ingredients
- Cooking spray
- Cooking spray One 5 lb whole chicken (can be any size, but small enough to fit in your crock pot, and cooking time will vary with size)
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Melt the 2 tbsp butter in small bowl in the microwave.
- Roll up some aluminum foil and place in the bottom of your crockpot in the shape of an “O” (to act as a rack).
- Rinse and dry your chicken, place chicken in the crock pot on top of the foil.
- Drizzle the butter on the skin of the chicken and spread with your hands (can use a brush if available). Then rub the spices onto the chicken, covering all of the skin.
- Put the lid on the cooker and cook on high for 3-4 hours (until internal temp of chicken is 165 degrees or higher). Then serve.

Optional: can transfer the chicken to a pan/backing sheet and broil for 4-5 min until skin is crispy.
