Emergency Medical Services Fellowship

The WVU EMS Fellowship is a post-residency training program to prepare physicians to qualify for American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) EMS subspecialty eligibility. The program is committed to training fellows in patient-focused, evidence based pre-hospital care, concentrating on rural underserved communities by promoting training for excellence in medical direction, pre-hospital education, safety, leadership, research, and collaboration. The program will prepare fellows to become exceptional EMS physicians, medical directors, educators, leaders, and pre-hospital researchers. It will take advanced emergency care and medical oversight directly to communities where it can make the most difference in critical situations---accomplishing this through its physician response program, air medical service, special operations, and university resources.
