Musculoskeletal/Sports Medicine
The Musculoskeletal (MSK) rotation is a one-block rotation developed and directed by our nationally known Primary Care Sports Medicine expert. This rotation teaches you various aspects of musculoskeletal medicine. It also serves as a prerequisite to the senior-level MSK rotation. You train in various outpatient clinics within the institution with a majority of these occurring at the WVU Sports Medicine Center directly alongside the team doctors for WVU Dept of Athletics.
The MSK rotation involves solidifying physical exam skills initiated in medical school. Further, this rotation will start to familiarize you with clinically significant radiographic anatomy. You will begin to learn techniques for intra-articular aspirations and injections, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and other basic musculoskeletal manipulation and techniques.
