Community Pediatrics
The community pediatric rotation is a block-long outpatient clinical experience that takes place at Wedgewood Family Practice, a community practice located in Morgantown. The primary goal of this rotation is outpatient pediatric care outside of the academic medical center setting. You will work directly with one of two community practice physicians responsible for the majority of pediatric care in their practice. This is a longitudinal experience that first occurs during the PGY2 year.
You will become proficient in the evaluation and management of outpatient pediatrics including well child examinations, school/sports physicals, CDC recommended vaccination practices, and acute illness evaluation and management.
