Family Medicine Inpatient
The Family Medicine Inpatient rotation is a block-long experience that occurs three times over each PGY year. This rotation takes place at WVU Medicine’s flagship hospital, Ruby Memorial Hospital, which is a 690 bed academic medical center, located in the heart of Morgantown. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the home to WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital, John Michael Moore Level 1 Trauma Center, and WVU Medicine Heart & Vascular Institute.
Our interdisciplinary team consists of family physicians, mid-level providers, pharmacists, and behavioral medicine specialists. The team provides services to a panel of patients receiving ambulatory care from Clark K. Sleeth and Cheat Lake Family Medicine Centers. This model balances comprehensive patient care important to family physicians and the resident physician educational experience.
During your PGY2 and 3 rotation, you will develop supervisory skills by providing oversight to students and first year residents.
