Curriculum
The Rural Scholars Program is designed to be a four year curriculum, which includes the MS4 year of medical school and the three year family medicine residency.The curriculum is developed with the standards for a Family Medicine Resident but also incorporates community relationships through Community-oriented Primary Care Projects. It also includes participation in the Rural Scholars lunch and learn sessions amongst other activities. The program also includes 2 months of West Virginia rural rotations and an advanced Rural-Fellowship that focuses on Obstetrics and Women's Health, and/or Rural Practice Management, and/or Rural Public Health, and Electives.
