For those of you interested in teaching and learning (including volunteer hours), the Interprofessional Education Department (IPE) is seeking 36 student facilitators to help co-facilitate individual small groups on Monday, February 18th from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on the Morgantown Campus. You might remember being part of the IPE experience as a MS1 student, this is the same program with different leadership and different outcomes. The content for Session 3 is on Values & Ethics. In your role, you will facilitate one small group of students through a pre-planned lesson. All interested and able to commit to this date, please email Anna Lama (alama@hsc.wvu.edu) before February 8th to confirm.

GETTING TO RESIDENCY 1.0 will be held Friday, April 26th from 1-3pm in 1901. We will discuss Residency match processes, you’ll get your GTR Handbook, and we’ll schedule your courses. This is a MANDATORY meeting. More details to come.

Fun Volunteer Opportunity – Jefferson County Community Ministries Food Pantry, 238 W. Washington Street, Charles Town. 3rd Saturday of each month, beginning at 10am. Volunteers will work with Dr. Maddie Humerick, Chef Scott, and others to assist the food pantry patrons to improve their nutrition status with monthly cooking demonstrations. Volunteers Needed – Chronic illness group and their support system is looking for speakers to give 45-minute presentations on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Meetings held 9-10:30am in the Dorothy McCormack Center, 2nd floor conference room. Topics can be health-related, inspirational, supportive, educational about coping mechanisms, sharing a story/experience, or a fun activity. Graduation Deadlines
Mar. 1st – Must APPLY for graduation with the University. Submit via STAR through registrar’s website (https://registrar.wvu.edu/graduation-diploma).
May 1st – All graduation requirements must be met. Includes passing scores on Step 2 CS, CK, CPX, 100 hours of community service, and satisfactory evaluations in all 4th year clerkships.
