Mission

About Med Music Outreach

Med Music Outreach’s mission is to connect WVU School of Medicine students with the community by sharing their musical talents with residents and families in local nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospice communities.

Our Mission

To bridge the gap between medical students and the local community through the universal language of music, fostering joy, connection, and well-being.

Our Goals

  • Community Connection: Provide opportunities for medical students to engage with residents in nursing homes, assisted living, and hospice communities through live musical performances.
  • Celebrating Talent: Host events that showcase the diverse musical abilities of WVU School of Medicine students.

Why Med Music Outreach?

Med Music serves as a creative outlet for students passionate about the musical arts while offering meaningful volunteer experiences. By performing for senior living communities, students not only enrich the lives of residents but also gain a deeper understanding of compassion and service. With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, many local senior living facilities in Morgantown have expressed a strong interest in welcoming back live music. Med Music Outreach is excited to meet this need, bringing comfort and joy through music to those who need it most.
