Mission

Students for a National Health Program (SNaHP) advocates for universal, comprehensive single-payer national health insurance. SNaHP is the student arm of Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP).

SNaHP believes that access to high-quality health care is a right of all people and should be provided equitably as a public service rather than bought and sold as a commodity.

Educational sessions covering single payer healthcare systems, healthcare disparities as they pertain to for-profit healthcare delivery systems, and grassroots organization efforts.

Advocacy for state and federal legislation in support of Medicare-For-All and local resolutions such as the 55 Strong Campaign.

Networking with other WV Physicians in Physicians for a National Health Program-WV and outreach to those whom SNaHP and PNHP are unknown.

Attending professional conferences such as the SNaHP summit and the WV State Medical Association Healthcare Summit in collaboration with PNHP-W.

SNaHP at WVU was established in 2021 by students with diverse backgrounds and specialty interests, united by the vision of providing healthcare for all who need it. Our charter was recognized the same year by the national organization.
