Musculoskeletal Infectious Diseases
Founded in 2017, the West Virginia University Musculoskeletal Infectious Diseases Clinic provides care for patients with prosthetic joint infections, osteomyelitis, native septic arthritis, and infections of the upper extremity. In the fall of 2023, the Clinic expanded to the Musculoskeletal Infectious Diseases Program. Through this Program, patients receive comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care that is coordinated with their Orthopaedic Surgery Team. This multidisciplinary approach to patient care has led to improved patient outcomes and patient satisfaction. The Musculoskeletal Infection Program at West Virginia University has become a role model for development of similar programs throughout the United States.
