Traumatic Brain Injury and Sports Neurology
The Traumatic Brain Injury and Sports Neurology fellowship at the West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute is the only program of its kind in the state of West Virginia. This fellowship is a one-year subspecialty training program with a focus on traumatic brain injury and other sports-related neurological injuries. The cornerstone of clinical and research training is geared towards sports-related concussion though also includes extensive training in the diagnosis and management of traumatic brain injury of all severities and causes.
Fellows will participate twice weekly in a multidisciplinary traumatic brain injury outpatient clinic, as well as rotations in sports medicine, neuropsychology, neuropsychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, headache medicine, and others. Fellows will also be expected to develop and/or participate in at least one research project during their training.
Eligible applicants must have completed an ACGME-accredited neurology residency program and be eligible for a license to practice medicine in the state of West Virginia. Our program accepts one applicant per year.
