Resident Research Program
Resident Research Program
All residents are required to complete an original research project during residency. Residents are taken through a structured research curriculum starting in their intern year. This curriculum is designed to help residents through each step of their research project from study design, IRB protocol writing, data collection, data analysis, presentation, and publication. Each resident is strongly encouraged to present his or her research at a regional or national meeting and to publish in a peer-reviewed medical journal.
Residents are matched with a research mentor for their research project. Residents with fellowship aspirations are encouraged to complete more than one research or scholarly activity project.
Dr. Kristy Ward leads the resident research program with the assistance of Dr. Ryan Heitmann and Dr. Omar Duenas.
Annual Palladino Lectureship and Resident Research Day
All residents present their research, at various stages of completeness, every year at our Annual Palladino Lectureship and Resident Research Day. This research day also features a prominent quest lecturer who is invited to deliver a research related presentation along with offering insight and critique on each resident project.
