As a referral center for the state of West Virginia, southwestern Pennsylvania, southeastern Ohio and western Maryland, there is a tremendous amount of complex corneal disease managed at the Eye Institute. This fellowship prepares fellows to confidently manage a wide range of corneal conditions, both medically and surgically. Former fellows of this program have joined academic centers and private practices upon completion of their fellowship. The corneal specialists on faculty at the Eye Institute include Annahita Amireskandari, M.D., Lena Chen, M.D.Lingo Lai, M.D., and Thomas Mauger, M.D. Dr. Lai is the director of this fellowship program.
