Scholarly Activity

Fellows participate actively  in departmental quality improvement projects.   Grand Rounds, which occur weekly, serves as a forum to interact with visiting speakers.  Research methods and scholarly activities are further enhanced via an abundance of seminar presentations led by our faculty.    They have the opportunity to present research at SoM Van Liere research day and Quality Improvement projects at GME Week and at AAPL our national conference.

Examples of past scholarly activities:

Quarterly Forensic Case Conference for Psychiatry Residents at WVU. Topics have included Competency to Stand Trial, Criminal Responsibility, Diminished Capacity, Dangerousness Risk Assessments, Workers’ Compensation, and Malingering.
