Student Success
A number of student success resources are available to Immunology and Medical Microbiology students, including those offered via the WVU Student Success website.
Mid-Year Academy
Students with a grade point average (GPA) below 2.0 at the end of a given fall semester will be placed on academic probation for the following spring semester. Students placed on probation must raise their overall GPA to at least a 2.0 be to removed from probation.
In addition, Immunology and Medical Microbiology requires students to have an overall GPA of 2.75 to remain in good standing in the program. Students falling below this standard may be dismissed from the program.
In order to provide assistance with returning to satisfactory academic standing, freshman placed on Academic Probation (AP) at the end of a given fall semester must complete the following requirements:
- Meet with Alex Tylka for:
- Mid-Year Academy which includes schedule adjustments and completion of an Academic Probation contract (January)
- One additional session during the spring semester
- Consultation prior to making any schedule adjustments
- Meet with your assigned success coach twice a month
