J. Brandon Arruda is a board-certified Adult- Gero Primary care Nurse practitioner as well as a Certified Urology Nurse Practitioner with WVU medicine Department of Urology- Division of Urologic Oncology. Brandon's primary practice includes evaluating and treating patients with a variety of urologic cancers. A published researcher,  Brandon has presented a variety of lectures on oncology care at the state and national level.  A passionate educator, he enjoys educating the next generation of advanced practice providers and leaders in the complexities of urologic care. 

Lynette DeChristopher, MS, PA-C

Lyn DeChristopher is a certified Physician Assistant for the West Virginia University Medicine Department of Medical Weight Management, the first accredited center in West Virginia to receive advanced designation in obesity medicine. Lyn has eighteen years of experience as a practicing PA-C. Extensive expertise in cardiology and exercise physiology make Lyn an integral member of the highly trained Medical Weight Management team of healthcare professionals who specialize in safe and healthy weight management. In addition to practicing medicine, Lyn serves as a clinical preceptor in internal medicine in the specialty of medical weight management.

Prior to joining the Medical Weight Management team, Lyn served as a PA-C in the specialty of Cardiology in private and hospital-based practices; ten years with Morgantown Internal Medicine Group and seven years with Mon Health Medical Center, respectively. She holds a degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Alderson Broaddus University and both an undergraduate and master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from WVU. Lyn uses her vast experience in medicine and exercise physiology, and her passion for health and wellness to empower WVU Medical Weight Management patients to reach their health goals.

Travis Kennedy, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, CPNP-AC

Travis obtained his Associates of Science and Bachelors of Science in Nursing degrees from Fairmont State University. He then obtained a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration of Family Nurse Practitioner. He later further specialized by obtaining a Post-Masters Certificate as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. He began his nursing career in the adult critical care setting and later transitioned to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. He began his Nurse Practitioner career working in the inpatient setting caring for pediatric cardiology, nephrology, and hematology/oncology patients as well as providing medical management for post-surgical patients. He currently serves as the Lead Advanced Practice Professional (APP) for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Travis has a passion for education and advancement of the APP role in healthcare. 

Kassandra Olgers, PA-C

Kassandra Olgers, PA-C, was born and raised in West Virginia and completed her undergraduate and graduate education at Alderson-Broaddus University. She has worked at WVU since 2009 with her initial 10 years spent in cardiology. She transitioned to the pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine department in Dec 2019. Most of her time is spent in the hospital providing a hospital sleep medicine consultation service. Continuity is provided to patients via her clinics at the Physician Office Center and Baker's Ridge Sleep Evaluation Center. Her time in these outpatient clinics allows her to follow up with all hospital patients and serve as their sleep provider in the outpatient sector. She also assists Dr. Sharma and Dr. Deshwal with the pulmonary hypertension clinic and outpatient management. Over the last several years, her research interests have grown and she is currently working on multiple projects within her department. Last year, she submitted her initial first-author publication to the Journal of American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Michelle Porembka, PA-C

Michelle Porembka, PA-C, graduated from Alderson Broaddus University in 2019 with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to obtaining her PA degree, she worked as an EMT and Paramedic for over a decade. She currently holds a Pre-hospital Physician Extender License in Pennsylvania and is licensed as a PA in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia. She is currently employed full time at WVU Wheeling in the Emergency Department. She also works PRN in the ED at Washington Hospital and WVU Uniontown Hospital. Her professional interests include PA education and advancement. Outside of her professional endeavors she is a foster mom and enjoys traveling and hiking with her daughter, husband and two dogs. 

Travis Randolph, MS, ATC, PA-C

Travis Randolph is a Physician Assistant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Clinical Director of Sports Medicine at West Virginia University.  He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from West Virginia University in Athletic Training in 2004 and received a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science at the University of Georgia in 2006.  Travis completed his Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Florida in 2008.

Shalee Shumiloff, PA-C

WVU Family Medicine

Shalee Shumiloff, PA-C is a 2004 graduate from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. Her past clinical experience is in Emergency Medicine/Urgent care and gastroenterology. She has been a Family Medicine provider for almost a decade, currently working for WVU’s Department of Community Practice.  Shalee has been a preceptor for APP students for as long as she can remember.  Prior to moving to Morgantown in 2015 she was faculty at Chatham University serving as Associate Professor of Clinical Education.  Shalee is a proud theater, band and Autism mom. Outside of work she enjoys cheering for her 3 boys, loving on her fur babies, gardening and any project that requires creativity.
