Admitted Students
We are happy to help you on your enrollment journey to becoming a Mountaineer and preparing for your first steps on campus! That's why we compiled this checklist of all the action steps you'll need to complete along the way. Additionally, you can view checklists for new students on WVU's main site by selecting the link that best describes your student type: first-time freshman, transfer, international, or change of campus.
Congratulations! You've been admitted... now what?
- Activate your WVU Portal: The WVU Portal connects you to STAR, DegreeWorks, eCampus, and your MIX email – all important online programs. You'll also use the WVU Portal to complete many of the steps required for enrolling at WVU.
- Submit your academic deposit: The academic deposit reserves your place at WVU Morgantown and is credited toward any tuition or fees you may owe. This also allows us to begin sending you communications about the next steps in the process.
- Research financial aid: This process requires you to submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). To learn more about preparing to fill out the FAFSA, visit this link. To find more information about School of Medicine tuition, please click here.
- Prepare for student housing: The housing application opens in October. You can begin this process once you've been accepted to the university and paid your deposit. Get started early so that you have the most options available to you!
- Register for New Student Orientation: NSO occurs in May and June for students enrolling in the fall. Starting classes in Fall 2024? Click the link to register today!
- Choose a dining plan: All students living in WVU residence halls are required to have a dining plan. We have several options for students to choose from! Click the link to explore which dining plan will be best for you, and the process for signing up.
- Pay your student bill: Ensure that your bill is paid by August 1 for fall tuition and fees.
- Prepare for move-in: Learn more about fall 2024 move-in procedures and how to best prepare for your arrival on campus. More information coming soon!
