Apply Now for WVCTSI Pilot Grant Funding
The West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute has released a request for applications (RFA) for the Open Competition funding opportunity. This RFA allows applicants to request up to $50,000 for projects conducting innovative research that addresses the healthcare needs in West Virginia and Appalachia. Examples include, but are not limited to, addiction, Alzheimer’s disease, emerging epidemics (e.g., HIV, hepatitis C), cancer, cardiovascular disease (including stroke), and chronic lung disease.
For this funding cycle, the budget is limited to a maximum of $50,000 in total direct costs for twelve (12) months for translational studies. Clinical studies involving human subject recruitment the budget is limited to a maximum of $50,000 in total direct costs for Eighteen (18) months. PIs can request an additional $5,000 if they include a six-week or longer research experience for a medical student as part of the project.
To assist investigators interested in applying for pilot grant funding, WVCTSI will host a special information session at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16.
